It has been a very rainy week. Hope is miserable because she can not play out side. If she feels bad, dad feels bad. So they both have moped around the house. We also made the mistake of telling her that she will be going home soon. I hate to say it was a mistake because she wants to go home to see her mom and dad; and for a moment she was very happy about it. Then her face turn sad and she said “what about Gran-b”. I told her that I’m here to take care of him so she need not worry and that it was important that they enjoy their time together while it lasted. She look at me again and said; “but Garn-b’s my best friend what will I do with out him”. I did not know what to say to that, so I just hug her.
Later my wife and I turned our back once and the next thing we saw was them both out side dancing in the rain. By the time we saw it and got them back inside they were soaking wet. My wife fixed them some oatmeal to warm them up and I got fresh clothes. Honestly it’s just like having two kids in the house, only one of them is a lot bigger and harder to control. But I guess she was making the most of their time, just like we told her to do.
